Green buildings are an opportunity for developmetn and private finance institutions to invest in high-added value, safe assets that deliver socio-economic benefits. This was the topic of a two-day flash training implemented by PEEB during the International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development at Skopje, North Macedonia, on October 29-30, 2025.
This training gathered people from private and public financial institutions as well as development banks from North Macedonia to take a step towards an efficient transformation of building finance. The training agenda included:
- Financial benefits of energy-efficient buildings
- Green finance frameworks & investment mechanisms
- Building certification & monitoring systems
- Real-world case studies
The flash training was a condensed version of PEEB’s training “Financing green buildings: from fundamentals to portfolios”. PEEB created this training in collaboration with development finance institutions in emerging markets and developing countries. The training is an adaptable and flexible service offer, capable of providing comprehensive skills on green building finance that are also tailored to specific contexts and needs.
The training buildings on PEEB’s publication “Energy Efficiency in Social Infrastructure: a Toolbox for Development Banks”. It will be implemented in PEEB Cool partner countries starting with Mexico. Other institutions can access the training via GlobalABC’s Finance Hub.
