This week, together with key stakeholders, PEEB successfully defined the operational plan of activities for the Partnership for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB) Cool North Macedonia — an initiative aimed at increasing energy efficiency and climate resilience in the way they build, renovate, and manage buildings across the country.
The workshop brought together representatives from key public institutions — including the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia in its role as the National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund, the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Finance.

Together, they analyzed the existing legal and institutional framework and identified key needs and challenges. They concluded by defining a set of activities grounded in national priorities.
Participants were introduced in detail to Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH’s Enabling Facility and the Investment Facility of the Agence Française de Développement.
A sincere thank you to all participants who contributed their ideas, experiences, and enthusiasm. It is only through strong commitment and collective resolve that ambition can turn into action.
With PEEB Cool North Macedonia, they are laying the foundation for an energy-efficient and sustainable urban future — step by step.
