PEEB Cool will contribute to making buildings more energy-efficient and resilient. Buildings will use bioclimatic, and sustainable construction practices. The project strengthens local expertise to achieve long-term climate objectives. PEEB Cool helps establish a strategic and operational frameworks to mobilize investment in green buildings. This advances the adoption of innovative policies, and regulations for the energy transition. The project reinforces capacities and engagement of key stakeholders to support a sustainable transformation of the sector.

Key work areas for upcoming PEEB Cool activities in Tunisia include thermal regulations, building labeling systems, the promotion of bioclimatic architecture, and energy efficiency calculation tools. The work will build on PEEB’s previous activities in Tunisia, which resulted in investments for efficient renovations of Tunisian hospitals, an energy mapping of the Tunisian buildings sector and a guide for energy efficiency in healthcare buildings.
