On 3 July 2025 at the Palais des Congrès Bouregreg in Salé, PEEB and its partners—the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Land Planning, Housing and City Policy (Ministère de l’Aménagement du Territoire National, de l’Urbanisme, de l’Habitat et de la Politique de la Ville – MATNUHPV) and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (Ministère de la Transition Écologique et du Développement Durable – MTEDD)—brought together key stakeholders from Morocco’s building sector to officially launch PEEB’s activities in the country.
In the workshop, participants from the public and private sector helped to enhance PEEB’s proposed workplan and validated the final results.
The workplan will support Morocco in two ways:
- PEEB Cool will collaborate with MATNUHPV on better sector policies and regulations, with a focus on a) digitalising the enforcement of construction sites and allotments; b) creating investment frameworks for voluntary labels; c) supporting emerging rural centres; and d) energy renovations
- PEEB Climate Finance Incubator will work with MTEDD to promote access to the innovative finance from the mechanism of the Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, through capacity building and project preparation

The contributions made during the workshop will be integrated in the final workplan, which will undergo constant enhancement. Implementation of activities will start in the third trimester of 2025.
